Finally Urban Development Ministry has allowed the Hyderabad Pilot Commercial Skybus project to take off under the Tramway Act 18XX , which authorises the Andhra Pradesh Government to make the rules for opening the rail based system of Skybus for public use, by a BOT operator. This is a major breakthrough in terms of policy for implementing the Skybus Metro, which is Rapid Rail Mass Transit system capable of delivering 20,000 to 80,000 passengers per hour per direction while simultaneously providing inter-modal integrated solution at hardly half-the cost of existing solutions in vogue.
